Meet Our Minister

Meet KC's minister, Heather Kirk-Davidoff.

Heather came to us in September 2005 from the Interfaith Families Project of Greater Washington, where she was spiritual director.

After earning a B.A. in religious studies and philosophy from Yale University in 1989, Heather was awarded her Masters in Divinity from Harvard Divinity School in 1994. She was ordained by the Minnesota Conference of the United Church of Christ in 1994. From 1994 to 2002, she was pastor of the First Congregational Church of Somerville, Massachusetts.

As an undergraduate at Yale, Heather met her future husband - Daniel Davidoff. They were married in 1993. Dan is an assistant professor at the University of Maryland in College Park. Heather and Dan are the parents of twin sons, Paul and Isaac, and a daughter, Rosa.

Heather serves on the national board of Emergent, a network of church leaders engaged in conversations about the church and emerging culture, and she was the co-founder of the Emerging Women's Leadership Initiative.

HEATHER'S ARTICLE: Heather has written a chapter for the forthcoming book "An Emergent Manifesto of Hope," which is edited by Doug Pagitt and Tony Jones and will be published by Baker Books in April. Her chapter is entitled "Meeting Jesus at the Bar: Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Evangelism." You can read a pdf version of her chapter by clicking here.

Heather also is the co-author of the 2004 publication, Talking Faith: An Eight-Part Study On Growing & Sharing Your Faith, and the 2006 publication, Dare to Dive In: Strategies And Resources for Involving Your Whole Church in Worship - both of which she wrote with her friend, Nancy Wood-Lyczak.

You can learn more about these publications at Kirkwood Associates and Amazon.
