Oliver's Carriage House was constructed in the 1830's as a barn and stables for a large private estate. Since the 1970's, it's been the home of our non-denominational church, Kittamaqundi Community.

  Inside, you'll find stone walls and exposed wooden beams. Outside, the tree-lined grounds, colorful gardens and landscaped brick patio add to the building's charm.

  We think the unique look of these historic surroundings will impress your guests and add a touch of enchantment to your special occasion!

Wedding Rentals

Wedding Rental Option #1: $2,000
Ceremony and Reception

This option gives you the use of our entire building and grounds for your wedding and reception. You also get time on the evening before the event for a rehearsal and, if desired, to decorate. Choose an indoor ceremony, or hold it outside on our spacious one-acre grounds. (We do the cleanup after the event.)

Wedding Rental Option #2: $1,600
Reception Only

This option is for those who just want a place to hold their wedding reception. It gives you the use of our entire building and grounds. You also get time on the evening before the event to decorate. (We do the cleanup after the event.)

Wedding Rental Option #3: $1,200
Ceremony Only

This option is for those who just want a place to hold their wedding ceremony. It gives you the use of our entire building and grounds. You also get time on the evening before the event for a rehearsal and, if desired, to decorate. Choose an indoor ceremony, or hold it outside on our spacious one-acre grounds. (We do the cleanup after the event.)

Wedding Rental Option #4: $1,000
4-hour Rental

This option is for those who need less time for their special event. It gives you the use of our entire building and grounds. Your event is limited to four hours, with two hours of extra time for set-up. (You do the cleanup after the event.)

Non-Wedding Rentals

$1,000: for the entire building - ideal for retreats, concerts or any other event where extra space is needed.

The above option has a 4-hour limit (limited extra time is allowed for set-up and cleanup).

$250: a one-time rental (upper floor) for a meeting, class, seminar or similar event.
$150: a one-time rental (lower floor) for a meeting, class, seminar or similar event.
Price negotiable: a continuing rental for meetings, classes or similar functions.

Each of the above options has a 2-hour limit (limited extra time is allowed for set-up and cleanup).

A refundable $400 security deposit is required for all rental options, in addition to the rental fee.
Please note: our building capacity is strictly limited to 125 people by State Fire Code. We cannot allow any modification of that capacity.

The rental deposit is refundable within 30 days of the contract date. If the renter cancels after 30 days, the deposit will be forfeited unless the building is subsequently rented for an equal value on that date. If it is rented for a lesser value on that date, a prorated amount of the deposit will be refunded.

What's included in the rental?

The upstairs features a piano, a stone fireplace, a loft balcony, a kitchen with refrigerator, stove and two ovens, and two restrooms. There also are tables and banquet chairs to seat 125 people.
The lower level features two restroom/dressing rooms, a meditation room, a children's nursery and a welcoming/receiving area with stone fireplace and piano. This level also has 80 folding chairs that can be used outside, if desired.

What about parking?

There is adequate space in our parking lot and on the streets adjacent to the building.

Are there accommodations for the handicapped?

There are several spaces in our parking lot designated for the handicapped, and a wheelchair ramp leading from the parking lot to the building.

May we choose who will perform the wedding ceremony?

Yes, that decision is up to you. Kittamaqundi Community is a non-denominational ecumenical church where everyone is welcome. We do not impose restrictions on who may perform your ceremony.

Are There Restrictions on How We Can Decorate?

There are no restrictions on decorating, except regarding the placement of lighted candles.

What is the smoking policy?

Smoking is not allowed inside the building at any time. If there is evidence of smoking inside the building, your security deposit will be forfeited. People may smoke outside, as long as cigarette butts are not discarded on the brick patio, steps, sidewalks or grounds. If you expect smokers to attend, you should bring containers for cigarette butts.

Any other restrictions?

We do not permit the use of our audio sound system. However, you may bring in whatever equipment you need - including microphones and speakers. You also may choose to bring in a portable dance floor, although dancing is permitted on our carpet.

After the event, who is responsible for cleanup?

You are responsible for cleaning all areas of use for non-wedding rentals and Wedding Rental Option #4.

Wedding Options #1, #2 and #3 do not require the renter to clean up. However, the renter will be charged for any damage to the building, its contents (including stains on carpets) or the grounds.

If the building is in satisfactory condition after the rental, the $400 security deposit will be refunded in full. If not, the renter will be charged part or all of the security deposit to cover the cost of cleaning and/or repairing damage.

How do we arrange for a rental?

To schedule a building tour or to inquire about available dates, please e-mail our rental coordinator at: kcrental@yahoo.com. Tours are scheduled by appointment only. Please do not call the church for information or to schedule an appointment - use this e-mail address for all rental requests.

NOTE: A 50% deposit is required to hold your reservation. The balance of the rental fee, plus the $400 security deposit, must be received no later than one month before the event. If all fees are not paid on time, or if a renter's check is returned for insufficient funds, the event will be subject to cancelation.

Directions: from I-95 or US 29, take the exit for Route 175 west. At the second stoplight past US 29, turn left onto Vantage Point Rd. Go up the hill and take the second left onto Leaf Treader Way. Then take an immediate right into our parking lot.
